End of Day Stockmarket Data collection after the Analog TV switch off.

Summary of this webpage
I wish to communicate with persons who would be interested in pooling time and skills to capture bulk quantities of end of day (eod) uk stock market data after the analog TV signal is switched off.

About my request:
My name is Graham Gidney and I currently acquire UK EOD data from Analog Teletext transmissions via a TV card. I capture and store data from 3000 stocks and over a dozen world indices daily using my own programs in Microsoft Excel. I wish to continue doing so after the analog signal is switched off at Winter Hill (NW England) this Autumn.

My original plan was to purchase the data commercially. However on making enquiries, it appears that the provider I had targetted is no longer offering this service.

My second option was to download data from a financial / money website that placed the required data on the web in text format (as .tsv files) as well as html. The information could then be quickly downloaded, even from many files, into Microsoft Excel using a simple visual basic macro. This is now no longer possible as they have altered their website. Text files are no longer available.

Clearly the task of collecting large quantities of this data is far more complex than with a TV card where it was easily achieved using simple scripts. I am therefore now seeking to contact anyone who has any opinions on this problem.

My best chance at the moment is to investigate a site I have identified which has the data in html files. However, I have not yet worked out a solution to extracting the data that interests me. I have considerable skill in programming Microsoft Excel but less so in other programming areas. If you have an interest in pooling efforts to acquire this data please contact me :
