That the league shall be called the Maghull & District Monday Night |
| | | Bowling League. |
| 2 | | The league shall be formed by any number of clubs. |
| 2a | | That the committee shall have the power to fill any vacancy that may |
| | | occur after the A.G.M. |
| 3 | | Matches to be played under the laws adopted by the Merseyside County |
| | | Crown Green Bowling Association and will be played on monday evenings |
| | | as decided by the committee. Play will commence at 6.15 & 6.30 p.m. in |
| | | the months of April, August and September and at 7.00 p.m. in the |
| | | months of May, June and July (clubs with floodlights will start all home |
| | | games at 7.00p.m.) |
| 4 | | Games to commence with four players and play to be continuous any |
| | | team not having sufficient players to keep the green fully occupied (not |
| | | less than four sets) during the match, shall on appeal of the opposing |
| | | captain, have the full points deducted (21 every player absent). |
| 5 | | The game shall be 21 up. |
| 6 | | Consisting of 10 players from each team. |
| 7 | | The name of players to be drawn and such teams to play (turn of cards) |
| 8 | | In all matches the visiting club to have first throw of the jack. Standard |
| | | blocks to be used. |
| 8a | | The away team to have sole use of the green 15 minutes prior to the |
| | | start of the match. |
| 9 | | Points scoring system each league match |
| | | 1 point each winner. 2 points for team home win. 3 points for team away |
| | | win. 1 point for home draw. 2 points for away draw. |
| 10 | | Club must submit to the league secretary registration of players before |
| | | the first fixture. Additional or new players must be registered with the |
| | | league 24 hours prior to playing in the league. |
| 11 | | Players registring for one club will not be allowed to change teams after |
| | | playing one league game |
| 12 | | No limit on registered players per team. |
| 13 | | No age limit on players. |
| 14 | | If in the event of a match being cancelled and the two captains agree |
| | | to play on another day there would be no objection. However if |
| | | the Captains cannot agree, the matter comes back to the committee. |
| 15 | | In the event of a match having to be postponed or incomplete owing to |
| | | bad weather or from any other cause, the scores then made stand and |
| | | the game re-start from the point and approximate positions when |
| | | abandoned. |
| 16 | | All games must be played before the close of the season. |
| 17 | | The home team secretary or captain to forward the result of matches |
| | | to the league secretary within seven days. |
| 18 | | Players must have played in two league games before second round |
| | | of the knock out cup to qualify for this competition. |
| 19 | | No handicap if drawn on own green (competitions). |
| 20 | | When games are played on neutral greens there shall be no practice. |
| 21 | | Club subscriptions to the league to be £50 per team per annum |
| | | (including knock out). |
| 22 | | The president, chairman and treasurer to be league trustees. |
| 23 | | One representative of each team and officers to be present at the |
| | | league meetings with the power vote of one per team in the event |
| | | of the voting being equal the chairman has the casting vote. |
| 24 | | Proposals to be discussed at the A.G.M. to be received in writing to the |
| | | league secretary no later than one month prior to the A.G.M. |
| 25 | | The league secretary to notify all teams 6 weeks in advance of the date |
| | | of the A.G.M. |
| 26 | | Honorariums. The league secretary shall receive £75 per annum. |
| 27 | | The league shall consist of clubs within a radius of 10 miles from Maghull |
| | | Town Hall. |
| 28 | | The committee shall have the right to adjudicate on all matters not |
| | | provided for in these rules. |
